Chapter 11: Only Chances

Later, Sierra sat on Trunks' bed reading a small book. She turned the page, and a small picture fell out of it. She picked it up, and smiled. It was Trunks and Goten. Both looked to be around seven or eight years old. They were with Bulma, and another dark haird woman. The two boys were standing next to each other and smiling, as if they would always be together.

As she heard Trunks walk out of the shower, she quickly put the picture back in the book. She then walked over to the window, and crossed her arms. "I have to know what it's like just once," she thought. "Tomorrow it all starts, and I may never have this chance again. Besides, I love..." Her thought was cut when she heard the bathroom door open.

Trunks' eyes widened as he saw Sierra with her back to him. "Sierra, what are you doing here?" he asked strangely. He wrapped his towel tightly around his waist, and walked over to her. When she lowered her head, he started to worry. "Sierra, what is it?" he asked as he touched her shoulder.

She closed her eyes and caught her breath at his touch. She slowly allowed him to turn her around. Once she felt him standing in front of her, she lowered her head. "Trunks... I..." she stammered as he lifted her face. She looked into his blue eyes, and became lost. Without really thinking, she gently touched his face. She leaned forward, and kissed him deeply.

His eyes slightly widened as he felt her press her body against his. He was even more shocked when she started to kiss his neck. "Sierra," he whispered again.

Without opening her eyes, she started to gently bite at his ear. "Will you sleep with me?" she asked almost silently.

A wave of shock passed through his entire body. He pulled her away from him, and looked into her eyes. As their eyes locked on each other again, Trunks realized how much he was in love with her. Their year and a half courtship was over, and now, she was willing, at least partially to give everything she had to him. All that was left was for him to do the same for her. He then kissed her passionately. He slightly pulled away from her, and smirked. "Only if you'll stay with me," he whispered before kissing her again.

Sierra ran her hands down his back, and felt him pull her even closer to himself. "Always," she whispered into his mouth.

Lia sat in her quarters looking through an old book. She read a small passage, and put it on the nightstand. "He's waiting for me, and I know it," she said to herself. Lia jumped out of her bed, and walked to the window. "Warriors. They always have to come by at the wrong time," she mumbled as she climbed up to the window sill. Without a second thought, she jumped from the window, and flew away.

Within twenty minutes, Lia landed by a large waterfall. She looked around, and sat down. "I know you're around Kyoya. Stop hiding," she called.

A tall man walked over to her, and smiled. "We know each other too well," he said. He sat next to Lia, and smiled. "Your time here has done you well."

"I won't let you kill her. Or Sayoka's family."

Kyoya looked at her, and then lowered his head. "I have my orders Love."

Lia looked at the waterfall, refusing to look at him. "And I gave my word."

They sat in silence for a few moments. Lia closed her eyes as he touched her hand. "And your orders come from a dead Noble anyway," she whispered.

He stopped tracing her fingers, and looked at her. "You killed her for killing your brother," he nodded. Kyoya then leaned over to her neck. "Your word goes to a woman who isn't even a Noble anymore," he whispered as his lips brushed against her neck.

"It's still my word," she whispered as a tear fell from her eyes. "You know how I feel about that."

"I know," he said. "Just like you know how I feel about orders." He kissed her neck, and heard her gasp.

"Then why haven't you killed me?" she asked. Lia let her head fall back, and ran her hand through his soft teal hair. "There are death warrants out for all of us."

Kyoya laid her down as he continued to kiss and bite at her neck. "Those aren't direct orders to me, or my squad. Why haven't you tried to kill me again?"

Lia's eyes drifted closed as his head started to kiss lower areas. "You know why," she said.

"Tell me," he said looking into her eyes. He sat up, and brushed her tear away. "I may know it, but I want to hear you say it at least once."

"I haven't heard the real reason why you haven't hunted me down."

As an answer, he kissed her passionately. "Stay with me," he requested as he pulled away from her slightly.

Lia turned away from him. "You know I can't," she said standing up.

"Why? Because of your word? Or my orders? Alexia, I love you....."

"Can't you understand that what you ask is impossible?" Lia shouted. Her voice was barely drowned out by the crashing waterfall. "I won't break my word to Sayoka, and I can't go back and serve under the bitch that ordered my death. I can't, no matter how much I love you."

Kyoya walked over to her, and kissed her deeply. "Then I'll stay with you."

 "I won't change you."

He looked into her tear-filled eyes and nodded. He then pulled her to him. "Then at least stay with me tonight. No words, or orders, just you and me here. Together."

Lia let him lay her on the wet grass. "I'll stay for as long as I can," she said softly.    Kyoya nodded as she gently touched his face. "That's all I ask Alex..."

"It's Delia, or Lia now. We've each changed our names." She pulled him close to her, and kissed him deeply.

Twyla slept with her head on Isa's chest. He looked down at her, and smiled as he pushed her soft blue hair away from her features. "Tomorrow I fight those I used to call friend," he thought with a sigh.

As if hearing his thought, Twyla opened her eyes and looked at him. "What's wrong?" she asked softly.

"Nothing," he whispered. "Go back to sleep."

With that, she sat up. "Isa, what's wrong?" she asked again. When he lowered his face, she lifted it back up. "You can tell me anything," she said looking into his eyes.

"The Warrior clan will attack tomorrow. My old clan. People who I fought with before..."

"We won't hold it against you if you don't fight tomorrow. There's no way Stevie would, and you know I never would..."

"You don't understand. If I don't fight, then they'll think that I have doubts about being here with you all."

Twyla looked into his dark eyes. "Do you?"

The question was as shocking as it was hurtful. He gazed into her eyes and smirked to hide his feelings. "Well, now that I think about it, Cosse and myself being the only males of the group is a bit unnerving."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't've asked that." She hugged him, and he held her tightly. "But like I said before, you don't have to fight."

"Yes I do. You and I are partners. I won't watch you go into a battle that I can help in. Especially when you could get yourself killed."

Twyla smiled to herself. "Well, you know first hand that I'm not that easy to kill."

Isa smirked as he kissed her neck. "I know. But I just found my mate. I can't lose her so soon after finding her. Okay?"

She looked into his eyes, and smiled. "Alright," she said softly. She then let him lay her on the bed again. "But you know, I'll never leave you," she said touching his face.

He nodded. "I know. But I need you here, with me. Not in another dimension," he whispered just before kissing her.
